July Cocktail Dresses... on ice.

Exquisite 1950's silk cocktail dress in steel blue encrusted in pearls, sequins and rhinstones. Missing label.
1960's silk chiffon cocktail dress by R&K.
Lovely 60's silk party dress in daquiri ice....
Silk plaid sophistication with cut-out sleeves...
Yes, it is a bit tattered, but it is an Adrian Original silk suit from the 40's. It's the only one I've ever found. Isn't it lovely!

Polka Dot Delight and more little black dresses...

  1950's Polka Dot Delight, size 2-4, waist 25", 98.
Check out the scooped out back!
1960(the original owner said) black chiffon party dress with plunging neckline. Really, it is the perfect little black dress. There is no longer a label in it but looks to me like a Miss Elliette or a Jack Bryan.
Size 5-6, with a 27" waist, offered at 175.
The perfect tear drop rhinestone choker by Hattie Carnegie from the 1950s. 125.
The late 40s Adele Simpson mystery dress, a mystery only because I cannot figure out how to tie up the side. Maybe you can help me! It is a size 4, and being offered at 148. A steal, I know.
Last but not least, me. Heavily photoshopped to even out my skin tone--showing off my new 1940's rayon dress--a total score at Goodwill for less that a latte and scone. A true miracle because I had just that week been lamenting the fact that I never find good 40's rayon print dresses anymore and how that was really what I wanted. Well, as they say: Ask and you shall receive. There it was, like new and in my SIZE.  Miracles really do happen. Set your intentions high ladies and just wait and see!
xoxo!

Soulful Dresses...

1950's grey taffeta party dress with silk scarf. Waist 27", offered at 225. No label.

U
All dresses are currently available at Xtabay, except for the dress Allison is wearing. She decided she had to have it after we emphatically convinced her that a black satin hand painted 50's rhinestone studded cocktail dress in a size 10 (modern) was simply too good to pass up. Besides it cost about the same amount as a pair of jean shorts at Anthropologie, and I seriously doubt if those denim shorts are going to mean anything to you for years to come. The dress on the other hand is one of those pieces that memories are made in. In fact, most of the dresses at Xtabay are like that. They are pieces that become story tellers in your closet. They become the pieces you get photographed in and tell your children about. They become the dresses that get passed down to generations to come. Okay, I'm getting a little schmaltzy...
But Seriously, clothing is so disposable these days. It's become soul-less. It makes me sad and depressed. Trends come and go so fast you can't even see them! Frankly, I have no idea what is IN right now. It's all starting to look meaningless...vapid, flushable down the toilet-able.
What I mean is these dresses have soul. They were made with love to be worn with love and you will look lovely in them. There... that's all.
