One of the most common questions I get asked at Xtabay is "what are you buying?"
Sometimes I find it hard to put into words exactly what I'm looking for. Often I find it easier to describe what I'm not looking for rather than what I am. For example, I am not looking to buy those fur wraps with the heads on them--ever. Nor am I ever looking to buy an 80s puffy sleeved wedding dress.
So in response to that question I've compiled a collection of dresses that I've bought (and for the most part already sold) over the last couple months that I feel best exemplify what I'm looking for. These are the pieces that make my heart skip a beat when they come through the door and that best represent Xtabay Style.
What exactly is Xtabay Style? Well, I've always prided myself in selling pieces that are timeless (meaning they are forever in style), iconic (meaning they best represent the mode of the time period they are from) and exceptionally crafted.  That I suppose is the essence of Xtabay Style.
If you have anything that you feel qualifies give us a call, we would love to take a look.

New Arrivals For July

Looking for something special to wear to your next event? We've got you covered. With this stunning plethora of vintage dresses you'll be sure to look fabulous at every occasion. Come by and see all the new arrivals this week and let our incredible stylists transform you into your most beautiful self.

What's so great about wearing a vintage dress? One, you will never be caught wearing the same dress as someone else. Two, the style and quality. Vintage dresses were made with integrity. That micro fiber frock from Forever 21 is mass produced and harmful to the environment. It is meant to be worn once and then thrown away. They should come with a warning label. Three, vintage dresses are timeless and never go out of style. I have personally owned the same 5 cotton dresses from the 50's for close to 20 years now and they still look good. A good vintage dress is an investment piece and a treasure. Four, you are guaranteed to look smarter, chicer, sharper and more stylish than anyone else at the event. Isn't that what we really want anyway?

We're back and more fabulous than ever!

After three long months of painting, primping and purging we are finally open. We are so excited to show you what we have done! My intention was to create a space that celebrates beauty, that delights the senses, that uplifts and inspires. I decided to pair down, simplify, let go of things that had been in the shop for the past 16 years collecting dust.  Don't worry, the poodles and the tiki bar are still here-only now the tiki bar is gold:)

In the process of simplifying, I made an executive decision to only be open four days a week. That way I have more time to find treasures, photograph things for our Etsy shop and maintain some degree of sanity. Thank you for being so patient and supportive during the stressful remodel phase, I hope you find the result to have been worth the wait.

Come visit us Thursday and Friday, between the hours of 11am and 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 10am and 6pm. We can't wait to see you!

Xtabay is STILL undergoing a glamour makeover, and it looks like we won't be ready to reopen for a few more weeks. Who knew remodeling would take so much longer than expected (wink, wink)?! In the meantime, I've been trying to fill our Etsy shop with as many vintage dresses as I can. Here are some of my favorite new arrivals this week...

Xtabay Closed For A Glamour Makeover....

It's been about eight years since Xtabay last closed her doors for a little rest and refresh. She's really been starting to show her age lately and is in desperate need of a major overall.   So we decided to take the rest of this sleepy, slow, snow covered January off to let her get a little work done. Fresh paint, new carpet, a little purging, and a lot of polishing. In other words,  Xtabay is about to get a glamour makeover.

In the meantime I will be adding new items to our Etsy shop daily so you can still get your Xtabay fix while she's under the knife.

I also highly recommend following Xtabay on Instagram at xtabayvintage to keep up with all our new arrivals and shop updates.

Thanks so much for visiting and we look forward to seeing you in February!
